Masako Hockey was born in Tokyo, Japan. She earned her undergraduate degree from The Musashino Academia Musicae, and her Masters from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts & Music, two of Japan's foremost music schools.

Currently Masako resides in Victoria, B.C., Canada where she performs regularly with the Victoria Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Hockey is also a member of the Aventa Ensemble, a leading contemporary music group based out of Victoria, B.C.

Masako has also performed with the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, The Geidai Orchestra, (Tokyo), and performed extensively in Opera and Theatre performances.
